These bells actually are silver, not just silver-coloured, and the clear tone made by them is delicate and pure.  If you are concerned about offending the Fair Folk, silver bells are infinitely prefered to brass or other harsh metals.  Silver bells are also specifically called for when banishing various hostile entities.
